I was stationed at Ferris Barracks from May 1955 to June 1956 with the 599th AFA battalion in Headquarters Battery. I often think back to those good days. I had no complaints. If any one was there around the same time as me, I would like to hear from you.

I Was at Ferris Sept.'68 thru April '70 with 3/51st inf. B Co. I lived off post with wife. I came a sp/4 and left a sp/4. I loved living in Erlangen but hated the army. Spent a lot of time in Graf,Wildflicken,Hoenfels and Tennenloe. Probably would have enjoyed army if not for my 1st Sgt.[top] Spangler. I hated him with a passion. I hope he reads this too. I was drafted and only spent two yrs in army and my best memories and friends were here at Ferris Barracks.

I was just a lowly E-1 when I arrived at Ferris Barracks that cold winter day in 82. After getting to my slot at C co. 2\81 Armor my young life took I turn for the best. I served ther till 84 ( I had to extend my tour :-) ) since then I've served around the world in and out of combat zones but my tour at Ferris Barracks WAS THE BEST bar none! The Black Bear,The White Hourse,The Green Goose,Georges,Unckle Sams, the pizza place at the corner that served "stuffed pizzas" with half a henchen for 5 DM. Even Graf,Hornfelts, wild chicken and the border are all some of the finest memeries of my life. If any one remembers me or that time 82-84 give me a line. Oh and lets not forget aboout all the girls at the Semens school who made me forget all about american girls. RED LIONS and OH AH to all our brothers and sisters who cant be with is this holiday season because they're doing the job I am now to old to do. :-)

This is a great site, that brought back alot of great memories, and some that were not so great. I was with HHC 2/37 Armor and Bco 2/37 Armor as a mechanic from Oct.75 thru Oct.78. Met alot of good people and drank ALOT of great beer, but not any more. If there are any of the guys out there I would love to here from you.

Dave Adams:
Steve,

HHC 2/37 was a great unit and had a lot of good people. We both drank a lot of beer.

Greetings to all who served at Ferris Barracks! I was part of 2nd platoon, B Co. 1-35 AR from July 86 to Aug 89 (which includes a few months as BN S-2 toward the end of that stretch). Spent many a night slopping around in Hohenfelsand pulling fog-watch at Grafenwohr, but spent several weekends skiing on various slopes in Bavaria and Austria. Long live Oktoberfest!

Terry Trusty:
so when you went to S-2 you must have worked with MSG Narro and SSG Moore..I was the S-2 guy in 85-87

My dad, Fred Robinson, served in Vilseck, Erlangen, Camp Algiers in Grafenwhor and Fuessen during the 50's. I believe he lived at Ferris Barracks. I am looking for anyone who served with him that could tell me about the time spent there. He passed away on January 8, 2004. I am working on a scrapbook of his military years and would love to talk to someone who was there. I know he served with Jack Snowden, Albert Singer, Reagor, Hill, Hansen, just to name a few. Please e-mail me.

Arrived at Erlangen in November 1975 as a young green 18 year old E2. By the time I left in November of 1978 I was an old seasoned vet, and an E5. The whole three years there I was a member of the 3rd platoon, C. Company 1st.Btn. 35th Armor. Started out as a tank loader, became a tank commander last month. How can anyone not remember those years in Erlangen who experienced it. Tank gunnery at Graf. Hoenfels, Reforger, Tenaloe. Freezing your butt off in the motor pool in the winter. Loading tanks at the Erlngen Rail Head to go to Graf or Hoenfels (that place was cold as hell in the winter, and had a foot of mud in the motor pool in the spring- remember? Beer in the barracks, stereo wars in the baracks, barracks rats, they were the best of times and the worst of times. 1st Sgt. Downey, Sgt.1st Class Stirgil, Savedra, Hurkmans, Harley, Bird, Collins, ect. Memories of Ferris Barricks Erlangen are burned in my memory forever.

Craig Whelden:
Interesting. I took command of C Company in October 1978 - about the time that you left.

This site brings back many good memories!

I was with the 529th Ord. Co. (M&S plt.) from the time we moved to post in mid 1989 until June 2001. I was good friends with guys from all over post. Lots of time running and biking around town. I tried out many of the resturants. Anyone remember the name of the place that had booths set in kegs?

I visited Erlangen in Sept. 2006 and was amazed to find Germany housing. I was sure all that cement would be there until the end of time! Cool to see the historic buildings were still there, good for memories.

I have not seen too many from the 529th on this site, but would love to communicate with anyone from my time at Ferris.

Astrid:
The place with the booths in kegs was called "Wein-Buettner". It doesn´t exist anymore.

K. Kuoppala:
Hey Matt, I remember you. I was in the 529th 89 - 92. As a matter of fact, you were my husbands roommate at one time. We all went to DS together. Those were some of the best times of my life.

HOOAH!
I was the armorer in Echo 2/6 Inf. with David Goodman, Eric Peterson and Robert Soloman 1986-1988. We have all had a few reunions recently which was like an extention of a 17 yr old conversation!
I was also friends with
Sgt. Richard Migot (NY)
SSG Harrison (FLA)
Jay Shuneman
Allen (SPUD) Ferris (UT)
Grdic (ILL)
I would like to find those guys if anyone knows them.
I also knew Steve Wright from HHC 2/6, we were from the same area in SE Iowa. I still talk to him.
Those were the single best days of my life! If anyone would be intersted in a "Cold War' Reunion...POST IT!!
Peace to all,
Pots

Dan Logan Medic 2/6 Inf:

Where to start...I was stationed in Erlangen with the 2nd 37th armor. My first day with my unit I had to report to duty in Hohenfels. I remember the old field telephones would give me a shock just a few seconds before it rang. So I would say, "guess I should get the phone!" That's when my 'radar' nickname started because I could tell when the phone was going to ring. I was stationed in beautiful Germany from 1972 to 1974. I remember "shorty' Landis, PFC White, Sargent Clark, First Sargent Strickland, Cpt Dale W Stewart, Michael Reddy of Florida, Poladian from Alabama, Morcilla from Guam, Boyd from San Jose, Sanders from Fresno. I've lost all my photos from those days sadly. Of course, my friend Gary Speck from Fresno whom I saw after the Army in Fresno, CA. Also I remember a Sgt Van Syoc, Sgt VanPatten and Lt Thrasher. I remember singing my way home from the White Horse. Waking up in a snowbank. Being a bit AWOL after a little train trip. Many great people. Many fond memories.

I was so glad to find this site! I have been reunited with my best friend, who is more like my brother, Shawn Sadler. We have not seen each other in 20 years!
I was stationed at 120th medical detachment. My wife is German from Herzogenaurach. We have been married for 19 years. It is nice to show the kids, all six of them, where Dad used to live and work in the military.
Thanks for an excellent site that has reunited a friendship. We will be getting together in the coming months!
I will also be going to Germany in March 07 to visit with my wife's family. I can't wait to show the kids where Ferris Barracks used to be!

Richard :-)

Eddie:
You'r very welcome. Glad you liked the site. I'm married to a German also. She is from Nürnberg and we go each year to visit her relatives.

I served in HHC 1-35 BN Mortars. Went to Desert Storm as a Fire Direction Computer. I was CPL at the time. After combat I went on to Ft Campbell, on to Jump school, Ranger school and many other courses. I taught air assualt school and did my jumps with TF 160th or 5th GRP. I was medically retired in 1996 due to Gulf War Syndrome.

Was there from 88-90 with 2/81 and 4/70...great times

Lenny:
I was there in the late 70's and early 80's. C Company 2/81 Armor. Erlangen rocked during that time.

Sammy:
I was there during the 70's too and I agree. Erlangen and Nürnberg were great places to have a good time. Met plenty of girls while there.

Henry:
One of the places I liked the best were the NCO Club and the Hex in downtown Erlangen during the 1970s. On a Friday and Saturday night the NCO Club was packed with German girls. They could enter from the street at the side door.

Butch Adams:
I like SezSum's (not sure about spelling). The University of Erlangen's club.

McDonald:
Were any of you ever at Mom's by the bahnhof in Erlangen during the 70's ?

Hello everyone, thanks for serving! I was stationed at Ferris with D co. 2/70 Armor between Nov91 and Nov93. I had the greatest time of my life in Erlangen and stayed there for 10 years after I cleared the base for closure (and ETS'd). I worked in the credit union in the Furth px and then moved it to Warner Barracks in Bamberg after Furth closed its doors. I'm now back in the big px for 4 years and sometimes wish I was still there. I would like to find SFC. Robert L. Booker to thank him for all he taught me and say hello to all the guys from Delta Co.

Michael Bryant:
Hello Matt. My name is Michael Bryant. We probably don't remember each other, but I was the PLL clerk at HHC 2/70 Armor from Oct 91 to Nov 93.

Wow, what memories, Erlangen (Aug/77-Aug-80) was the 1st of three tours to the FRG during my 20 yrs in the Army. You have listed 3/37 AR...but I can swear that it was 2/37 AR. Just a note about the Mess Hall that 2/81 and 2/37 shared, the old M4 Sherman that sat in front of it. We got that thing running. Supposed to have been COL Abrams tank during WW2....He visited the 37th in the 70's and the tank was verified to have been used by him during that time. Anyway, I remember the alerts and Tennelohe, Graffenwoehr, Hohenfels, REFORGER....and the Beer...and standing in the crowd (a line in Germany) to order a Hamberger Royale at the McDonalds on Hugonotten Platz. The folded Pizza at that little place on the corner just up from the north gate was good too! Great site...and will stay posted to the next reunion. AND thanks Sarah for running into me!

Martin Fabis:
B. Co. 2/81 77-79. The stuffed/folded pizzas and the pomme fritz with cheese. Just can't find that sort of cuisine in America. Or the beer.

Made some good friends that I would like to get back in touch with. But I think I miss the brew the most. If anyone knows it my fav was Weltenburger Kloster Baroque Dunkel. Id order it by the case if I could. Great site!

Hi all, I was stationed at Ferris Bks with the 1/35 Arm. from Apr. 70 - Apr. 73. I was in HHC and worked in S-3. Capt. Fitzpatrick was the S-3 for a while then 1LT William (Bill) Shatzer became the S-3. Ltc. Finkbiner was the Bn. Co. Anyone remember TOP and his horn he blew for every formation, until it didn't look when it tried to cross the street, one night, and got ran flat. Hope this post find all of you doing well. Some of the names I remember are Glenn Hammer, Herb Alpert, Bill (SP/5 in S-1) and his wife Ingrid, Bob (A Co) an Bunny.

Mike Dehnert:
Good to here from you James, really dont remember you but Im sure we met sometime back then, sure had some good times, how many times did you go "over the wall" to get downtown? My first nite there was New Years Eve, barely got signed in and was "invited" to go downtown, only about 3 people in the company that night, the cq, the runner, and a cook. Was in FT Sill for track vehicle mechanics back in late 68 before going to Erlangen, have you come across anybody else that was there when you were?

Mike Dehnert:
James, check out www.ferrisbarracks.com Tried to email you but address wouldnt work, will try again

JACK FRENCH jfrench28@cox:
James, I remember the name, I was in A 1/35 and then Bde HQ during your period. I knew Fitz, Bud and LTC Finkbiner, LTC Hull and still am in contact with Lt's Knapp, Quimby and Holmes. It was a great period but we didn't think so at the time. Best wishes

James Rose:
Jack,

Good to hear from you. You are correct in that we didn't think it was that great at the time. It was not an easy assignment. We did do a lot of "bitchi'n". Only after I left the 1/35 and went stateside to the 3rd Cav. Rgmt. in Ft. Bliss, Tx did I realize how great that assignment really was. I never look back on other assignments as fondly as I do Ferris Barracks. Ferris Barracks and the 1/35 were SPECIAL.

Freddy Ramm:
Hey James, there was a rumor of who the perp was on the great horn massacre....I wonder if he is in the Indiana State Prison System...hint , hint!!
Freddy Ramm

Freddy Ramm:
Can't take credit for the horn. I do know who did it, but promised to never reveal the name or names.

After it was destroyed I learned from Top how he had received it, and I do regret it was destroyed. In the same tone, he should have not used that horn to call formations. The Army issued whistles to 1stSgts. for that purpose.

Les Peterson:
I remember that horn as a pain in the butt sad thing to happen. I was a medic in 1st and 35th 70 to 72

MY oldest son told me about this site, he was born in the US Army Hospital in Nurnberg, I was with HHC 1Bn 35th Armor from 12/31/68 to 6/15/71, Co. Maint. had great time at Ferris Barracks, wife joined me in 3/69 and lived in Rottenbach, saw a lot of guys come and go, Orbitz from Jersey, Tillery, Pappy Kubitz, Terry Huey took a Europeon out, Tanner, Magee, Elwin Clifford Caven the III from Lake Charles, La, "Mesquite" from Texas, Evans, "Tennessee", would love to here from anybody that was there same time, anybody know where Gene Atkins from B Co, 1/35 is these days was there same time, thanks to all the vets that have and are serving now, God Bless

James Rose:
Mike, I served with HHC 1/35 Arm. from Apr 70 - Apr73. I was in S-3. I just got a bug this morn to look up sites for units is served in. Nice site. Not enough photo's of the 1/35 when we were there. Do you remember the 1SG with the Yeager Horn he would blow every morning? Until someone stole it and flattened it with a car. That was cruel cause that horn did mean a lot to TOP. If you want to email me, feel free.

James Rose:
Sorry I forgot to leave my email. rose0056@sbcglobal.net

I was there 3/68-8/69. At the time you were there, I was an HHC cook SP5. I'm sure we ran across each other. Ever do KP at the HHC mess?

To anyone that hasn't noticed, this guestbook operates just like the old Ferris Barracks bulletin board. If you want to make comments on someone's entry, there is no need to enter a new entry. Just click on the pencil above the entry and your comment will come up in the same box.

The reason I'm suggesting this is, there are alot of people not making any entries since the old bulletin board was shut down.

Lenny Perry:
I see what your talking about!!!

Larry Ray:
As long as I've been signing guestbooks I guess I never noticed that these guestbooks were capable of what you suggested.

Mackey:
I guess you learn something new each day.

Hi all, What a wonderfull site. We loved Germany! We lived in a three story house right across the street from Ferris Barracks. My husband, Henry Brueckner, was stationed at Ferris Barracks from 1976 to 1979. He served the HHC 1/46 Inf, and was a cook in the mess hall. I was the assistant manager at the Day Care Center there from 1978 until 1979 when we PCS'ed to Ft. Riley, Kansas. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers us! :-)

PFC Terry Thompson:
I ate alot of meal's in that mess hall (Next to the Bowling Alley) And I vaguely remember a Brueckner as a cook...How ironic that I came from Ft. Riley to Erlangen and visa-versa...I was in the 123rd Maint. 3rd platoon that shared Barracks with your Hubby's 1/46 unit...

Terry:
I forgot to mention I was stationed there from early 78 to June 80...

Squigg:
I was stationed with HHC 1/46 also. 76-79. I remember the name. I was with the HHC motorpool, ran around with Glup, Spotanske, and Cole, from commo section. SSG Watkins was the motor sgt. Martin, Durossette, all in Mait. sect, I remember you.

Jack Schwarz:
We wer there from 1976 to 1978. I was in CSC 1/46 1nf I remember that mess hall I remember Henry. I did some hard partying over there.

Mike Riley:
I was there from 76 to 78 in C Co. 1/46. Can't say I remember Henry but I ate nearly every meal for 2 1/2 years in that mess hall. Maybe he'll remeber me as the guy who had to paint the enclosure they built on the side of the mess hall after I was smart enough to scrawl FTA next to my ETA date on the bare wood. (Yes, I'm admitting it now!) The last real work I did in the army.

While reading about our former XO, Major Ecoppi, and his units exploits in Vietnam, I came across this site. I was with the 2/14th Arty when I knew him and we were located in Montieth Barracks. Later, we moved to Merrell and during that time I was assigned TDY to Ferris for 3 months to work on Reforger 1. I bought my first snow tires there, after I slipped and slided all the way from Merrell to Ferris one fine snowy morning. The auto service center was a short walk from where I was working (actually reading army manuals trying to figure out how to control the artillery part of the exercise). Reforger 1 was the first massive exercise of the relocation of a stateside division to Germany in resonse to a simulated Warsaw Pact invasion.

On my first day, I almost thought I was going to get court marshalled, but ... that's another story.

Richard Lake:
The year was probably 1968, possibly 1969.

I'm looking for anyone who served with me from 1988 til 1991. My unit was HHC 1/35 ARMOR (Mortars). It would be nice to here from anyone who knew me or who might be living in Nürnberg, Erlangen or Fürth. Been married to my wife, who is German, for 15 years now. Went to school here to learn to be a draftman and that's what I do now. I'm so happy I found this sight. I have found a few people this way and just wanted to thank you. Stationed in Erlangen from 82-84. 2/81 red lion scouts out! Going to the lake in the summer, Prince heinrichs on the corner for chicken and pom fritz. Lot of stories, such little space. Would love to hear from some of those old scouts or even some of those HQ people that might remember me.

I was stationed at Ferris Barracks 87-90. I was in Echo Company. I drove for Capt's Moses, Chere & Molina. Captain Chere was really cool! Molina was an idiot. Before I left I managed to borrow a duece in a half truck and go drinking. Bad idea! busted to E1 but they lost my packet so my dd214 still shows E4,lol. That was the last stupid thing I've done. I'm now a Deputy Sheriff of 12 years. I would like to get in touch with Jeff from HQ 2/6 INF. He played guitar in my band we had put together while we were there. Would also like to get in touch with Horan from Echo 2/6 also. Email me if you have any info or if I know you.

I was at Ferris Barracks with 1/47 Inf which later became 2/6 Inf, CSC to Echo Company. So many memories. I'm still in contact with John Pothoven, Eric Peterson, Bobby Soloman, Marty Conde, and have a few others too.
Let's get a reunion going. Even though this was a shitty time, with people like SSG Munuz, but hey, there were plenty of good times. Strawberry Fest in Erlangen, Murphy's Bistro, etc.

dennis lendowski:

i JUST FOUND THE SITE. iTS GREAT TO HEAR AND SEE THE PLACE WHERE I SPENT SOME OF THE BEST YEARS OF MY LIFE.I WAS IN 1ST PLATOON C CO. 1-35TH ARMOR. SFC. GASCA WAS OUR PLATOON SARGENT AT THE TIME. I LATER DROVE CAPT. LANZALOTTAS TANK BEFORE LEAVING FOR THE 24TH INFANTRY AT FT. STEWART.I WAS AT FERRIS BARRACKS FROM JUNE 80 TO JUNE82 SO IF THERE ARE ANY OTHERS WHO SERVED WITH ME FEEL FREE TO EMAIL. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Greg:
What unit were you in at Ft.Stewart?

Havntforgotten@bellsouth.:
James I don't recall you. I do recall that fat sissy womanly looking Cpt.Lanzalotta. Most of the people in C co. 1/35 Armor at that time period were arrogant drugheads. That's what they did when not driving tanks. They smoked hashish, opium, and drank alcohol. If you weren't a drug head with them, they tried to harass you. I wonder how many of the misfits wound up in jail later in life. I see all of the post glorifying the men that served at Ferris. I wonder if they were there. Let me know if any of you run across a Lt. Schroeder. I would love to talk to that little man again.

Heah everybody, I finally made it back to Germany. Was in Erlangen last weekend, WOW the place has changed. Went to see some old german friends there. I plan on making it back a few more times. Anybody still living there wanna go out for a drink let me know. I was in A and D co 1/35 Armor from 78-88.

Eddie:
I'll be there in 2 more weeks. We usually go to Erlangen about this time every year.

Always stop at the Unicum (Old NCO Club) for a few brews. When we're sitting in their beer garden looking across 2/81 parade field at the old barracks, it's like I never left.

Returned to Ferris Barrick in July 1973 to Command A Co. 1/35 Armor, 1st AD was the assistannt S-3, and the S-1 of the Battalion. Report back to Ft. Jack French:
Ron, I was a Plt Ldr under Frank mcCormick and then did a stint as an aide then back to Bde S-4. Any updates on Frank or Fitz? Best wishes

Hello Sir. I have a picture of you...Your head sticking out of the train window as we traveled from the Erlangen railhead to Graf. We were rounding a big curve....tanks and a big tower of some sort in the background. Those were good ole'days. I was Top Gun in unit, 2nd to Nefford (I think that's his name) from B or C 1/35. Atwood was the CMDR. I think Webb was the 1SG. I wonder what happened to Sgt Ray Vencill? SP4 David Miller was a gunner and he has comments on your post (267). Take care and good luck.

Great site. I was stationed at Ferris Bks. from 1971 to '76 in the 1/35 under Lt.Col. Jim Finkbinder. Commanding the scout platoon was my first assignment as a 2Lt. During my first summer I was sent to Grafenwoer to administer "Range 80" which was good because I got to experience every U.S. armor unit when it came to qualify. I got to know lots of folks. I then was sent up to the 2nd Brigae Hq's, commanded by Col. Jim Tuberty, to run the Tennenlohe Trainig Area. This was also good because I got to know the German Forest Meisters, the Mayor of Erlangen Dr. Halweg, who happened to have been educated in my home town of Pittsburgh, and many other local folks. I lived off-post in Tennenlohe for some of my time. I have great memories of the Burgkirchvie, Erlangen and Ferris Bks.

James Rose:
Hi Ross, I to served under LTC. Finkbiner. I was in 1/35 from 70-73. Worked in S-3. It really caused a stink when LTC. Finkbiner made 1LT. William (Bill) Shatzer the S-3. Do you remember 1LT. Giles? Saw a video on History Channel about the M1 tank and Giles was a BG and commanding the 11 ACR. Honestly, when I knew him, I never thought he would make it above Captain. He was just to easy going. I'm glad to see he did so well. I never thoutht to look for a site for Ferris Bks. or the 1/35 before. For some weird reason the thought occured to me this morning. I'm glad I did. I hope this finds you well.

JACK FRENCH jfrench28@cox:
Ross, You and I were fellow Lt's, I had a platoon in A Co. under Frank McCormick along with Knapp, Quimby and Shatzer. They were great times, hard to believe we are old and gray now. I still hear from Mark, Stan Knapp and Bob Holmes. I also lived in Tennenlohe. Hope all is well.

Hey all!
Great site! I was with 1/46 Infantry HHC. 1978 to 1981. I was in supply. Was Clerk, Armorer and Supply Sgt during my visit. Just curious about what happened to everyone. Only one I stayed in touch with was Fred Scully and it's been a while since I talked to him. Surely some of you guys are out there or know some of them. Partial List. Name and rank at that time. Allen C. Pursche Major, Kirk Smith SFC, Kevin Kelly SSG, Larry Board SSG, 1Sgt Patton, those are some of the guys that kept me out of trouble. I didn't realize how much at the time. How about Turner, Skrmetti, Pannizi, Pierce, Munsell, Mikey Matthews, Moody, Viar, Strahan, Turley, Lionberger, Johnson, Littlefield. And anyone else out there who remembers. Would like to hear from you. Rod Jordan. rodneyearl@peoplepc.com

Just trying to get my correct e-mail on record. I was stationed in Erlangen with the 83rd and 36th Artillery 1962-1964. Great place to be young back then. I would like to find some of the old friends from my unit and Erlangen. Interesting that so far I have found a friend next door that I work with that neither of us knew that the other had served at Erlangen. It can be a small world.

Hey all! Just found this...awesome!!! Was in HQ Company, 2/70 AR from 90-93. Not a day goes by that I don't think of the "good days" in Erlangen. Coming to visit in summer of '06. Nice to not have to worry about going to Hoenfels while there...chuckle. Scouts lead the way!!!

I was a dependent living in Erlangen 1960-1963. My dad was Sergeant Major John F.Whitley, 50th Inf. I was a student at Nurnberg High School and best friends (still, to this day) with Francia (Hedges) Moutier. Her dad was principal of the American school in Erlangen. We had great times at the skating rink...that was our social life, to be sure. This is a great site and, as I read through the guest book, it is amazing to see the number of years Ferris Barracks was in existence!

Hallo,
my name is Markus Kern and I am working for the Kitzmann Brewery in Erlangen.
Can somebody explain to me why the "Erlanger Bergkirchweih" was called
"Strawberry Hill Feast" by most GIs.

Many thanks and greetings from Erlangen!

Eddie:
Back in the 1960's and 70's the fields up behind the fest area were strawberry fields. Our tanks destroyed a lot of them when we were on night training exercise. So most GI's called the place Strawberry Hill, not Strawberry Fest.

johanna, roundrobbin8@yah:

Served with HHC 2/37 Armor 75 -78. My first time away from home. Met a bunch of great people and had a great time. Retiring this Jun with 31 plus years.

Steve Courington:
Hey Dave. We sure did have some good time with some great guys. Have you ever heard from Jerry, Tony,Steve German, or Doug? I'm back in Iraq again and I tell you It's not getting any easier. Would you believe we just move the 2/37 from one FOB to another. That was a trip. The M1 is a heck of alot more tank than those M60s were Can you believe I did not know any of the guys? It's only been 28 years since we left the 22/37. If you read this and get a chance e-mail me. I'm sorry I lost track of you the last time I was here. Not sure how that happened. There is an e-mail address on the roster if you don't have it. Sure would be nice to hear from you. Take care and God Bless.

I was stationed with the 630th MP Company 1977-79 and really enjoyed Erlangen. Can't say that it was all perfect, being one of only 8 girls on base with about 8000 men might sound interesting, but the cat calls forced me to buy a car. (and trust me, it wasn't like I was trying to dress for it) So I bought a car.

I remember this guy Tim Broderick who used to play baseball when we were doing sports for PT, he was from Boston. An amazing shortstop. He should have been in the majors. I wonder whatever happened to him!?

Kim

John Chaffee 76-79:

Hello, I was stationed in Erlagen at ferris barracks from 1986-1989, and looking for an old friend of mine. His name is ollie, he ran the class six store there for years. If anyone has any information as to his whereabouts it would be greatly appreciated.

Eddie:
I remember the guy that ran the Class VI store, but have no ideal on how to contact him.

There's a guy that visits this site by the name of Morphet that still lives in the old housing area there at Ferris. If you find his email on here, he could maybe find out about the guy.

Hello. I worked with the S-1 in the 2/37th Armor Division in 1972 and 1973 - His name was Captain David Rittenhouse. Colonel Fleming and Major Greene were the XO and CO of the company. Anyone out there know where Capt. Rittenhouse is these days? He was such a nice man to work for. thanks. Barb :-)

Was stationed at Ferris Barracks 1974 - 1977. Didn't like all the field duty, but loved all my time back at the kaserne and Erlangen. Had a great time there.

The new guestbook got lost some place. If you had an entry on it, you will have to replace it. Sorry

Eddie:
On the new guestbook. If a person has a website URL there will be a little house over thier name. If you click on that little house, it will take you to their website.

If there is an envelope ove the comment, the person left their email address. . You can click on this to send that person an email.

There is a pencil and paper over each comment section. If you click on this pencil, you can leave a comment to the person that put the entry in the guestbook. It will show up under their comment in the same box.

Like I have done here.
