I went to NAHS from 89-91. I was a member of the hoodlums, I had to leave unexpectantly in 1991. Played football and lettered both years. Just trying to catch up with old friends. Those were great times. Lived in the Kalb housing edition across from the school.

My father M/sgt. Ray E. Hunigan was stationed in Nurnberg Germany May 1953 -Dec. 56 from middle of the 5th thru middle of the 8th grade. We were stationed in Nurnberg, Furth and Zirndorf. I was 11 - 14 years old and have submitted pictures of our class.

Wow, the school looks so different. Glad to see that it is still there unlike everything else is about gone. I went to NAHS from 1984-1987 and graduated NAHS. I would love to go back for a visit.

Just a note to all who attended NAHS between 1968-71, my brother Greg (Class of 1969 or 1970-I don't remember which) passed away suddenly on Oct. 21, 2009. He was a great guy and a great brother. He was married for 25 years to his wife Lorrie. He will be sorely missed. Thank you.

Attended grade school and jr high 2nd grade thru 8th grade 1971 - 1977. Play alot of baseball for the Nuremburg yankees. live across the street on JFK street. I had a best friend Mike Thompson. I was a "walker" and he ate lunch at our house school day, lost touch when we moved to US. If you played for the Nuremburg Yankees back in 76-77 you might want to know that I ran into Jeff Gorman in Texas a couple of years back and he is doing great. I would love to hear from anyone during that time.

I lived in Bamberg and attended Nurnberg HS in 1954 and 1955. Lived in the dorm and went home on weekends. There were about a dozen students who lived in Bamberg and attended NHS.
My dad's unit went back to the states early so I ended up graduating from Junction City HS in Kansas.

I graduated in "72" from Nurnburg. I lived in Schwabach. I was on the drill team and the gymnastics team. I remember teachers, Mr. Slatterhy(sic) for history, Mr. Grana and his wife, Mr.Peters, and Ms.Boershinger. My brother Neal played JV football, and my brother Mike and sister, Sandy attended the elementry school.

My parents gave me my old "1985" Franconian yearbook recently when they retired and moved to a smaller house. I attended Nurnberg HS for only part of that year (I was class of 87) but I had so much fun that I wanted to see if I could catch up with some of my old friends.

I lived a little off base in the officers quarters. Can't remember what it was called. I was one of the football managers for the varsity football team. I wore all the hats, watches, and gold chains during the games.

So many fond memories of our time at Nurnberg American HS. We were there from 1963-1965. My sister Sandra Maile graduated 1964. We were stationed in Schwabach. Aloha to all!

Vilseck was the best 1976 through 1981. Graduated NAHS Jan 1977. Boy did we have fun.

Looking for old friends from the early 90's...

I went to Nurnburg HS from the end of 1969 to 1971. My father (Lt. Col. John Dure) was stationed at Ferris Barracks - it was a fairly long bus ride to and from school, but we always had alot of fun! Kim and Jenny Harris were our neighbors in the duplex. Leah lived across the street. Other friends were Don and Mark Brodeck, Jeff, Norbert, Anthony, Lery Syms. Many others I can't remember right now. Those were some of the best times...If anyone was there during this time period, I would love to hear from you!

I lived in Pastorius housing area from 1987-1990 and worked for a Father O'Connell at Merrell Barracks one summer. I'll never forget the grandeur of Merrell Barracks and not quite comprehending its dark past. As a teenager I was more interested in earning the 2.50/hr so that I could go to a movie or hit the downtown market on the weekend!

I can't believe that it's been over 20 years since I would ride my bike past the barracks every weekend and ride around the Dutzenteich. What a place.

CLASS OF 1960... fresh memories of the school bus from Dambach to Nurnberg American High. Can't be 48 years ago, seems like just the blink of an eye. NAMES, at least a few, Ron Whitaker, "missing" in Florida I think... Dave Pearce, taught me how to run the movie projector at the Kalb theater...Michelle and Karen Caster, I had a high school crush on one of them (I won't embarass either here, butwhat a one-way street that was. My name is Terence I attended Nuremburg High Schholl in 81 for a short time before my family was assigned to Fort Dix, NJ. I can truly say that I still have vivid memories of everyone I came in contact while atending school there. I sometimes wonder where they are and what there doing. If by any chance when they get a quiet moment to themselves do they think the same way I do. I lived on Gerhard Hauptmen Strauss and would walk accross a a field in between the quarters to get to school. I can remember coming home for lunch and sometimes not returning to school. Or going to Food land after school, to the theater on the weekends or the carnival that would set up next to the practice field at the high school. You didnt have much to watch on TV. Well i can go on and on but I will not. Just wanted to say hello to all who were givin the rare chance of experiencing life overseas.

Does anyone remember coloniel Doane's son John Doane and his friend James. From Hohenfels base. Did anyone live in Berazhausen? I lived there back in 85. My friends were Todd, Tan, Carrie, John and james and there was someone else he also lived near me in Berazhausen. We were stationed at Hohenfiels base, but lived in Beratzhausen, above a store. My brother and I went to Nuremberg High, back in 1985. It was the best time of my life!! I loved Germany. My best friend was Carrie, she had red hair and freckles and also lived off base. We hung out the Doane, Shaun, James, Todd and his brother, etc. The commute to school was like 45 min to an hour.

I lived in Nurnberg like about 85-86 5th Grade and then we moved to Herzo and lived in Molly Pitcher 86-88 or 89 went to Erlangen for 6th Grade Elementary and then to NAHS for 7th and 8th, (Remember going to the Gummi Store for lunch). Our time was up and we moved back to the States. My brother Craig Whitney and I attended NHS 1960-64. I finished my freshman year there and Craig completed his junior year.

I am sorry to report that Craig died suddenly two years ago. He has four children, three grandchildren and taught school (PE, what else?) for many years.

I am also a retired teacher with two grown sons. I would enjoy hearing from others who remember us from those years.

Hi, I went to the Nurnberg American School from 1968-1972, part of my 4th grade through 7th grade.
I recently made contact with my 6th grade teacher's family. Richard Sagerman was my 6th grade teacher, but I found out that he was no longer living. I attended Homemaking Class in the High School building, and I remember going over there for doughnuts and jelly rolls at break time. I believe that they were 5cents each.
I am looking for Teresa Broyles, and James Walter Green, and Karen Moore. These were friends of mine.
I also remember all of the Bomb Scares we use to have. We would walk over to the base, and hold up in the Gym, until the school was searched and found to be clear. I lived across the street from the School, by what use to be a Soccer Field, used by the School.

I went to NAHS from 1965-1970 5th grade to 9th. It was a tough time as a kid because I was in that school during the Vietnam war. The GI's would come here after their combat and stay for 2 years. Kids would all of a sudden appear in my class and the same held true for the departing kids. It was tough to bond with kids because they stayed for a short time and left. I was a civilian and my Dad worked for the EES. But overall, it was a great experience and I only remember one kid my age that I was really friendly with, David Bush. The last time I saw him was around 1968.

I lived there from 82-86. I joined the Navy in '86. I used to go to that crazy bar called "The RockHaus" and hung out in the smoking area across the street. My best friend was Toi - we used to do everything together. If anyone remembers me or anything from that good time so long ago, feel free to drop me a line.

I went to Nurnberg American High from 1981 to 1982, prior to that was Amberg, Germany.

Went to school in Nurnberg in 1992 and lived in Herzo. It is sad to see how it has all changed and/or gone.

I spent the better part of my school years in this area. I graduated fron Nuernberg in 1992. It has been nice to see the pictures.

I grew up in Germany (Nurnberg) and was there from 1st grade to 10th grade. Finally left there in 1992 and eventually went back to visit Nurnberg while I was stationed at Landsthul Germany. Lots of memories linked with these pictures! Great site!

I attended NAHS from 1975 - 1978, graduating mid-term in '78, then I went to work full time in the commissary warehouse till the summer when I returned to US. Just learned a few months ago that my former English teacher, Jim Mulder, lives about 8 miles away in Coral Gables. Too bad he doesn't return phone calls!

I attended NAHS in 1971 to get my GED. Don't remember which couses I took there but I did get my GED. There were some examines I had to retake because I had failed them but once back home I schedule tests with Armstrong high school and past and got my diploma (GED).

Heya all. I really have fond memories of NAHS. I attended from 86-88. I played on the JV Soccer team. Hung around with Erich Dean, Jeff Thomas, Robert Vire, Steve Frank, Jason Shelton, Steve Phillips. I'm currently a Civil Servant living in Okinawa. I'll soon be moving to Italy. I hope to swing back that way and see how things have changed!

I was in Nurnberg for 3 years & cut the ribbon on the new elementary school built on Monteith. Went to Nurnberg from 1974 to 1977 when I graduated. Was stationed with my family in Grafenwoehr, and LOVED dorm life! If I only knew that my high school days would be the best memory of my younger days, I think I would of done more! I do miss all the fun! Attended NHS 1977-1979, was a dormie for 2 years. My dad was stationed in Vilseck. I loved my life at Nurnberg. Was truly saddened to find out that they had closed her. Great to read so many fond stories and memories. I dated Pamela Clark, where is she now?

Attended Nurnberg Amerian HS from Jan.'80 to Mar. '83, early grad. class of '83. Had some great times at Nurnberg! GO EAGLES!!!
Last visited the old school in Apr. 2004, all different now, a german school at present.

Did not go to high school here , but was stationed in Nurnberg from 83-85. I am however looking for someone or someone who knows a girl I met there back then. Her name was Connie Stinson. She probably graduated around 80-82 or so. She was working at the P.X. when I met her. She lived in Furth then too. hope someone can help. Loved this website.. thanks

Graduated from Nbg Hgh in 76 but I lived in the area for many years. My mom was german but she became a US citizen. She taught at the High School from 78 until it closed down. Many places in Germany will have a special place in my heart but Ngb was home

If i remember right went to the 7th and 8th grade and the 6th grade in Erlangen lived in Herzo had a lot of fun in Germany

I attended NHS in 1961-64 (8th -10th grades). My sister (Connie Johnson) graduated from there in 1964. We lived on Gerhardt Hauptman Strasse. I love the memories!!

FATHER WAS IN THE 5TH BN 73RD ARTILLERY STATIONED IN ERLANGER NHS 1964 THUR 1966.

ATTENDED HIGHT SCHOOL FROM 64-66, STATIONED IN ERLANGEN. REMEMBER MANY THINGS AND MISS ALOT OF THINGS.

Never went to Nurnberg High School. Was there a couple of times watching ball games.

This site sure looks like a good way for all the students that went there to get together.

The guys on that Ferris Barracks site run into old buddies all the time.

I did not attend the HS I was too young. We were stationed in Furth in 62-64. I attended the elementary school that shared space with the HS as I recall.

I have a very specific memory of the auditorium at the HS. 22 Nov 63 I was 9 and attending a Cub Scout Blue&Gold banquet with my parents when someone came running in yelling that the President had be asassinated. I had no idea what that word meant. I remember that all I could come up with was that someone had insulted him publicly. My brain could not imagine that someone would kill him.

Needless to say things were very tense for weeks since we were so close to the Czech border.

Have all the buildings been torn down? We lived on Jakob Wasserman Strasse, anyone else?
