I was stationed with 96th OrdnanceCompany from 1969 to 1974,I was with MR Parish in the site, I was office clerk. It was the best time of my life, I loved deckers, Cafe Goebel, and Gasthaus Ebbing, My German adopted family was Oswald and ermgardt gorzell at frieher von stein strasse # 6, Now at 62, i miss herbornseelbach, I wish i could,go back. I lived in Herbornseelbach from 1974 – 1978. I think we lived at 17 Jacobmuller Platz (next door to the Clements). I remember the Sheehans, Zachs, Dorseys (Tom – I think in one of my parents photo albums there is a picture of your sister swinging on one of the clothesline poles behind your house). I was in school with Wendy Creighton, Cathy Clements, Billy Frame, Carol Hider, John Kohl and Tom Dorsey to name a few.

I remember Paul O Meara. He was my first roommate at 96th Ord. I bought his little orange bmw from him. I was there from 83 to 86

I was assigned to the 557th 1976-77 but attached to 52nd USAAD. We went there for admin purposes & stopped on our way back from Giessan. When we were’nt down range, we came to Herborn to the Shutzen House up on the hill. I dated a German lady from Dillenburg named Crystal. We broke up when I had a in-country transfer to Mainz

I also lived in herbornseelbach from 1967 to 1981. It was the best way to grow up,we had a great community excellent benefits and opportunities provided by our military base and the adjacent German base. i had mrs clements as my 3rd grade teacher who helped transition me from being in a german school to a American school in the third grade. Mrs and Mrs sheehan worked at our school as principal and in the office. My name is Thomas Dorsey and I think we had a great environment to grow up in back in herbornseelbach.
