I was in Dexheim from 1976 until 1979 with the 12th Engineers as the Communications Chief CSM Lane was Battalion Sergeant Major and my Company commander was, Cpt Blair. Also my wife worked at the PX. We now live in Augusta Georgia. Cell (706) 825-1339

I was at Anderson 1969-70.

Part of my time there I was the kitchen manager at the NCO club. Made a ton of carry out pizzas for the EM’s. I remember once a Brit unit was staying there for a time and they didn’t know what pizzas were. They called them tarts.

After that I became one of the bakers. A general commented that my cinnamon rolls were the best he had ever had in the Army.

Maybe some day I will make a trip back to Germany. Looking at google maps old Dexheim is not the same little hamlet.

I was stationed at Anderson Barracks from 1994 to 1997 with Alpha Company 123rd MSB. I deployed with them to Bosnia as well and was surrounded by some great E-4 and enlisted soldiers. My memories there were fond and the soldiers on post were amazing.

I enjoyed my time in Bosnia and enjoyed the soldiers in my company. So sad to hear that it was closed down.

I was at Dexhein 71-73 Best duty station I had. Still think of the people there at the time. The ones I had contact with. They were special. Sweeney,hope you took car of the GTO I sold you.Jerry ,,stilll drink a beer in one swish,,.Wish I had stayed there another year.

My barracks was Headquarters Co but worked at the dispensary. The medic for the 5th missle Bn was a man named Fisher (Fish for short) who came from southern Indiana and his wife was there also.
Still remember the bowling alley, the EM club, the motor pooll., mess hall and little chapel at the entrance. Also drank beer at Frau Flanz’s gasthaus in Dexheim. Also remember Beatta (sp?) who worked in the PX. She was a bit on the round side but very nice.

Anyone out ther work at the dispensary from 63 to 65. I was with the dental end of it.I remember Sgt Holmes and Flint als Warren Hardy in X ray who has since passed on.

Was at Anderson Barracks in 1970 to 1973. Eco. River Rats.
Mab operator at camp tomas on the Rhine River. Was their when
we bridge the entire river. Good time in my life. I remember we had
a race track with volkwagans on weekends.

I was at Anderson in 1983 through 1985 at Echo Hard Germany was the best tour of duty. The mark rate got up to 4.98 it was wonderful now with the new money not so hot.
