I was in the 3/12, A troop, from Feb. of ’70 to Aug. of ’71. Spent the first half of my time as a loader on the M551 and finished up as a driver on an M114. Lots of great memories. I have a few pictures of Armstrong Kaserne if anyone is interested. Contact me through my e-mail address.

Was the S2 for 3/61 ADA from April 82 to April 86. 3AD G2 wanted me to rotate up to a division position, but I loved Buedingen and the duck hunters so much that I politely declined. Winter REFORGER 86 was one of the more memorable exercises. I recall when someone decided to cut down all the beautiful trees that lined the main road (something about the roots were interfering with the sewage lines)…except we didn’t get permission from the Forstmeister. Got a letter from the Buergermister on that one. Was on 3/61st’s running team that was hastily organized to participate in a relay race sponsored by our Partnership unit, Flugabwehrregiment 5 at Lorch am Rhein. We were up against semi-professional teams. Those hills along the Rhein were brutal! A lot of fond memories.

I was stationed in Budingen in 1986-88 with C Company 3/61 ADA…
Lots of great memories of my time there, and the people of the small town of Budingen.
How they put up with us, I have no idea….

Hi there, I was with my now exhusband at the time you referred to. He was with D troop and we were expecting our son at that time. I remember joking with Barrefaulti sorry about the spelling, the night before they left for Graf and that terrible accident. I used to stand up in the movie with Sgt. Worrely because i couldn’t stand to sit thru the movie while carrying my son. I lived with a German family while there. Couldn’t find a nicer family.They babysit my son when I rode the bus to Gelnhausen to get groceries at the px. I am still friends with the late Duane Jackson’s wife Juanita. we flew to Germany together. Nice to hear from someone who remembers that accident. Janice

Lester: I lived near Frog Circle in small 3 family -1st floor was Sgt Wheeler,2nd floor was Capt Wessel both of HQ Company which I’m still in contact with, I had 3rd floor attic appartment. Landlord was going open a small fowler shop on 1st floor which didn’t happen while there. Any way hey. Happy New Year

Sgt Major I was the S3 during that time. It was a bad time. That was when an Arty unit over shot the range.
