My mother and I were dependants living on the Kaserne with my dad when he was stationed there in 1974-1977. I went to the Babenhausen school for 5th & 6th grades. I went to Aschaffenburg for half of 7th grade until we came back to the states. If your father was Maj. reck and worked in the HHQ building, then I have met him. My father worked for Maj Reck during that time, his name was SFC Stearns. Its nice to find someone who lived the base at that time.

I was assigned to the 36th FA GP/41st FA GP from July 1971-July 1974. My position was as the Group Medical NCOIC. I was chosen by the Unit Physicians (Drs Mardorf, Dierker and Piland to coordinate and establish a Joint Unit Dispensary (JUD) at Babenhausen 1972 so that we could provide Medical Services to both the soldiers and their dependents. Dependents were being treated at Aschaffenburg. Group Commander was Col Cronin. The GP CSM was Lucas. Units at Babenhausen at this was 2/5th and the 2/83rd with some small supporting units. The 1/26 Target Acqusition was one these units. I lived in Government Quarters on the Kaserne. I also worked after duty hours at the NCO Club and the Rod and Gun Club. We also had a small Dirt race track, one of the only ones in USA Europe. Babenhausen, was one of my better assignments. We had a great time living in the small community, where everyone knows everyone else. We were a close knit community. I miss it.

I was on fliergerhorst kaserne with 2/75 FA.i was there from 1988 until 1990.i was in Charlie battery and bravo battery.my platoon sergeant was SFC Fleming.my section chiefs were quinones and singer.my friends were Daniel sperry,Mack,brimmer,Baham,Moore,Sullivan,jones,perry,and bobby harris,and fata.never will forget getting busted by security guards for exploring the underground tunnels on the other side of airfield where the big loop was.good times.i can be reached at ojarchie@yahoo.com.long live the thunder lizards,lol.
