Joe, I faintly remember your name. Glen and I were in the CW Radar Section. We were re-flagged the 2/57. I left in December 73 and rotated to Homestead AFB. The old unit was de-activated and re-organized as a Patriot Bn and deployed to the Middle East in the first Gulf War. There is a lady Vet in my American Legion Post who was there at the time and was telling me about it. I need to sit down with her and get more information about that time. Good to hear from you.

I was stationed at Barton Barracks from 65-67; HHB 210th Arty Group. Met some great soldiers. It was a good tour of duty.

I was there until 4/70. I roomed with Glen Tilley. What happened to the 4/57? Did they move back to the states or did they just rename the unit to 2/57. I worked in the Arms room. I believe there was a clerk by the name of burback that worked there.

I was there when we transitioned to the 2nd Bn. Went well. I recall that we changed out letterhead and lost the pictures on the hall wall by the Orderly Room. I was a 24B at the time. CW Radar.

I was in A Battery, 4Th Bn, 57th ADA at Barton Barracks from 1/70-12/73. The best three years of my life. Have been back as a civilian twice. Still love the place.

I was station at Barton Barracks in good oid Ansbach, Germany from November 1981 – November 1984. Oh what a good time I had there in Charlie Company and Germany

I was at Barton from June 67 to Dec 69. Battery A, 4th of the 57th. Like the one other guy said I did the HAWK stuff at Bliss but the first thing they asked when I got to Barton was could I type. Battery clerk and Commander’s driver was the result. Was anyone there when the 4th of the 57th changed to 2nd of the 57th. I am interested in how that went. Also does anyone remember the Kugel Stuben, an Italian bar downtown? Is it still there? Great times looking back. Remember the crap when the Russians invade Czechoslovakia in Aug 68? Google Earth shows lots of changes at Barton. EM club is gone, chapel gone, theatre gone.

was at barton 70-71 i was in the first barrack on the left as you went in the gate on the second floor facing the courtyard between the first and second building from the gate….i couldn’t tell you the company or the battery. i operatede the wrecker and went after all the povs the gis wrecked…..some of the guys in my battery … larry pronko(my best friend), he was the battalion commanders driver, gary riley, armando rivera. sgt bruno, went to ezo many times to listen to records.

i had a mos of 16d20 and was with A btry 4th and 57 from 1967 to 1970.. not sure if some other sergeants that I had would have been there when you were.

I served with the 4th Bn, 57th ADA from 1961 to 1964as a missile & launcher mechanic. Ansbach was a great place to be stationed. Learned to speak German while there. The 4/57 was a fine unit.
