I was stationed at Drake/Edwards in 1964 and 1965 at the 503d M.I. Detachment. There are many fond memories there. I went on to serve until 1983, and retired, and am now a commissioned security officer and bodyguard in the war on terrorism. With Respect, SSG, E-6 Retired, Derace D. Owens

Joe, I was with the 503 s&t bn, 3QM when you were there. I remeber the pizza joint very well, orded through the fence behind 143 signal. the 51 club was our drinking spot, Dave Springer owned it. John’s is a Korean resteraunt now, I was back two years ago and Edwards is all torn down except for one of the old Signal buildings, they put housing there.

I was in Bravo Company 4th Support stationed on edwards from 1984 to 1987. This would of been during Col. Ryan’s time of command for the 3AD Discom.

My dad was stationed at Edwards from 61-63. We left 12/06/63/ By chance do you recall Col. Pugh’s given name?

I was assigned to the Dispensary at Edwards from Nov 68 until Mar 71 as the Asst NCOIC and the only medical clerk in the entire building. My OIC, Major Donald Norris, ensured I was trained to stitch, give shots, dispense drugs, drive the crackerbox ambulance, and take x-rays. He also had me train in the Division Surgeon’s Office. As a result, I never went on a field exercise. Not something I was eager to do anyway. Best egg salad sandwitch I’ve ever eaten was prepared at the snack bar by Frau Klaus. I was discharged in Mar & later enlisted in the Air Force, & retired in 1993.
