  1. I served there from 1964 to 1966 (3/80th & 1/26th) private to E4, then off to another unit and E5. Anyone who served with the 3/80th and interested in contacting a group of us, just let me know. Married a beautiful young German lady from Griesheim. We’ve been married 45 years and return often. Both or daughters (adults) both speak, read, and write fluent German. Our youngest is in the CA NG (IRR now). I went back on AD in ’74 and on to complete 30 years of service. Retired (but am not retired from working or life) a few years ago. Gerda & I were married in Darmstadt (legal ceremony) and church wedding up at the Cambrai chapel. One of our daughters was also married up at the same Chapel in 1995. We have lots of German relatives and friends in Griesheim & Darmstadt.

  2. I was in the 94th eng. A co from 88-90. It wasnt bad when we were there. Of course Smuggs, Hard Rock, and the Rainbow club always gave us enough places to get in trouble. And who can forget the american tent at the Heiner Fest 4 days of party!!!

  3. I was stationed at ELK from 1983 till 1987. I was in A Co 94th Engineers. Darmstadt was a great place to be. I got to have the time of my life with some of the best people I’ve ever been around. The german people was very nice and extended a friendly hand to me. I spent alot of time at a disco called Smugglers Inn. This is where I had the most fun. My first sergent would tell new soldiers that if they wanted to go down town and party that Specialist Frazar was the hookup.I had a lot of good friends there like Jerry Baker and Larry Parsons. I would love to go back in time and do it all over again.
