Went to Ferris Barracks 3 or 4 mabey 5 times==TDY. Neat clean etc. Still KP & guard and details existed. Billets nice. grounds clean, Good snack bar Nice NCO & EM Club. It was a great, great improverment over Montieth. I wish the post commander would have went to Montieth and had a little word of prayer with all first sgts. There was a Gasthaus in Erlangen I cant recall the name. Was off limits BUT neverr had NO trouble. There was an MP came in. He was 6 foot /6 inches==Bigg as as the actor Clint Walker//Cheyenne Bodie// When he did SO help me the music stopped COLD. He even had a voice likeness of actor Walker..If he said to ONE....to GET OUT OF DODGE !! I know if the place would have had 50 people there 51 would have left I had seen that MP before in Nurnberg. Some of the guys I was there with had not been to Nurnberg. They were unfortunate to have bad assignments ====Perm party at HOF.== Back to the MP. I will bet money then & now that MP most likely stoked that .45 Auto Colt Pistol with SILVER BULLETS. Got to close. One thing more, Montieth would make you appreciate a nicer place as Ferris Brks. was. Finally Montieth would make a good Mini-Series----Anybody know TOM HANKS ?

Mike Graves here....stationed in Co C 1st Bn 35th Armor 4th AD at Ferris Barracks 1969 - 1971. We usuallly went up to the rec room and checked out musical instruments and jammed in the small back room to the left. Pool tables were to the right. That was back when harmonicas were three dollars apiece. What just happened? Where is James McDermott, Kenny Berliner, and Sgt. whats-his-face?

Arvin, I was a radio operator in HQ co. and we were on the 3rd. floor of the B co. barracks. I was there from Dec. 1962 to June 1964. Ended up working in the message center. I beleive Richard Hicks and Willie Gregg were also in B co. I liked the 50th. emblem, everybody thought we were captians wher we were at other posts. "Play the Game".

i also have hepc. in honesty, i used a needle a few times, however the culprit i see is not from the airguns but from the head shearing we recieved in basic training. i remember nearly all soldiers had bleeding knicks from the close haircuts. the clippers werent even given time to cool between cuts much less disinfected in the 1 inch of bloody disinfectant the drunkassed barbers used..
