I went to Tolz on a regular basis yes they were haunted it was the SS boys training area. I earned my German jump wings while attached to 10sf gp. It was one palce I enjoyed my monthly TDY trips to inspect the mess halls clubs etc. But most of all to train with the sf group. Most of the tunnels were from the steam heat and the pipe runs. There were others lets say interesting. I left in 1980 and have not gone back. With failing health from Vietnam the trip will not happen. Blessings Ed SSG

I graduated from Bad Tolz in the winter of Jan 1969. Perhaps you might remember the movie "To Sir with Love" a bunch of us thought we were smart and sneak out of the barracks against orders to watch the movie. When the lights came on after the movie, we stood up and looked back. Our whole company training Officers and N C O's were sitting there with their families. We just knew they were going to fail all of us, we ran back to the barracks. None of us sleep that night, cleaning the auto bond polished to a high black shine. Bunks were made to perfection everyone sleep on the floors, every item was in place under the bunks. Foot lockers was folded and placed for inspection, we were out of our minds with fear. What did they do, took us to the field for the day and night in cold deep wet snow up to our thighs. That is when we learned to function on little or now sleep, making very little or now mistakes. No computers or calculators, everything was done by hand and mind. We wore the patch seven steps to hell with pride. I still wonder where many of the troops are today. I can be reached at 813.333.1754 Land O Lakes, Fl. Rev. Dr. Alfred L Early. God Bless!

Loved my time at Flint Kaserne! Was there from 1975 - 1977. Went to jump school there, and was with HHQ, 1st SF, 10th SFG(A)E. Best assignment ever!
