  1. looking for for Hans Ley. He wrote my mother Bernadette Gunner who lived on Bonnie Brook Farm years ago – she still has his letters wrapped in a ribbon. His address was Giessen Germany/ US Zone 4033rd LSC Smith Camp

  2. does anybody remember the young man who stabbed a girl on FRANFURTER STR 185,in the early ’80s

  3. From April 1987 -March 1991 I was assigned to the Giessen arear and had a wonderful time. I was a DAC/66th MI working downtown as a liasion officer with the local government. We lived in Lich on the German economy. Great place great people. Every morning going to work as I stepped outside I smelled the brewery newest batch about to be bottled. I made the brewery tour several. During our stay we enjoyed visiting nearby towns and military bases such as Butzbach, Friedberg and Kirch Goens. I ate many breafast’s at the little rail road car parked next to the guesthouse. I remember K.G. motor pool arear the never ending raws of tanks until the fist Gulf war. I also rember the 117 with a .50 cal parked in front of our commassary. The Giessen housing arear had heavely armed guards surrounding it.
How about the local demonstration up to the Giessen depot?
Many times I think of our four years in Giessen. Nuernberg was my next duty station. This time I only lasted three years until all the 66th MI DAC’s were gatherd in Augsburg where we received the bad news. The German government asked us to to leave by the end of Septer 1995.
    Only excellent memories remain.
Merry Christmas to all the writers and readers of this wonderful web site.
    Adol
