I am looking for a person who was stationed here at similar times. Small background: my mother-in-law was born in Stuttgart, her mother never told her who her father was. Her mother was: Ingeborg Anzenberger and worked at the army base shop. It was hinted at that a “Eugene Hatfield” (or some similar name),was Amer. Army and stationed there, may have been her father. Its a long shot, but do you remember any of these two names? Or could point me in any direction? Please email back. Thanks!!

Hi Don:
I spent a short time with the 524th in 1968, maybe 3 months before the unit reforgered to Fort Hood, where I spent 8 months of surveying north fort from a cafe in near Gatesville. Stuttgart was heaven compared to the 182nd LEM in Furth near Nurenberg where I spent 5 months repairing surveying instruments.. I do not recall your name, but ya really can't expect much after 44 years, I have pictures of the time spent there on my facebook. I live near South Bend, IN

Does anybody know an Anthony Arthur Dean (or vice versa)? He was stationed in Stuttgart until 1964. He must have been a meddac or a cook, because he wore a white uniform. We don't know his homestate. Any help is greatly appreciated.
You can contact me at gisearchangel@googlemail.com

Thanks

I worked at Grenadier Kaerne in the HQ VII Corps DPW, Housing Division, as the Furniture Manager from Dec 88-Oct 90. Worked with many great folks....loved the Bad Cannstatt beer fest...and downtown Stuttgart area. Since I collect German WWII militaria...I found a German WWII Photo album showing life as it was at Grenadier Kaserne. I always recall driving into the gate seeing the figures & eagle at the gate enterance. In 2004, I drove down there from K-town and had a hard time finding a Kaserne...BUT I found it...WOW...big change.
