I was assigned to Hustehoeh Kaserne Pirmasens from April 1989-Sept. 1990. I was the Chief, Central Furnishing Management Office (CFMO). Worked as a civil service employee for the Directorate of Engineering and Housing (DEH). Worked for Mr. Jerry Richter and Mr. De Rossi. The DEH was Major Fox. The Commander of the 59th Ordinance was Brigadier General Benchoff. My work force consisted of mostly Host nation employees. Mr. Friedewald was the Property Book Officer. The area is very nice and not far from France. My wife and I travel often to France in the afternoon to have coffee and Cake and do a little shopping. The area is in the Pfalz. Many of hidden secrets were in this general area.
I lived there and worked at the pizza place/bowling alley/bakery and the shoppette in zweibrucken for a bit. I dated one of the MP’s for about a year or so. This was around 1990 to 1992. Fun times. I remember hanging out with some of the medics and they would put a keg on a stretcher and we would hike up to the top of the castle ruins and party all night. One of my most favorite memory.
Does anyone remember MAJ Barlow – he is my father and was a member of an Ordnance unit there in Pirmasens from 1970-73? Our family lived on “Mississippi Street” on the hill, near the “Miller” and “Cuthberson(?)” families. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I’ve looked back on some comments but as yet haven’t seen anything from anyone who served with HHC, 2nd MI Bn. I was there from late ’77 to June ’79….rode around on a blue & white ’73 RD350 Yamaha for awhile, I worked at the bowling center cooking burgers for awhile too. I remember the Germans always wanted to buy our cigarettes, I didn’t smoke and remember cartons with a ration card were about $1.75 each…I had a great time in Germany. I used to hang out with a couple of guys from 76th Trans Co., one was Robert Lockett, the other I don’t remember his name.
