Was stationed at Murnau 1961 and 1962 as Ordnance Maintenance Instructor. We had quarters in Garmisch. That was Country Club living.

I heard Kimbro Kaserne was torn down in 2008? How do I get a map of where it was? My husband and I lived directly behind it on the Staffelsee, used to walk to the Kaserne most days (he worked in the hospital), and I worked upstairs in the snackbar…(1968-1970) I am taking our daughter to Murnau and want to show her the house we lived in, but don’t have a clue how to find it, unless I have a map where Kimbro was….any suggestions?

I was assigned for 2 monhts in 1959 at Kimbro Kaserne in hevy equipment maintenance school
I am french and I was employed by the US Army to serve on pumping station of the NATO pipeline wich cross the France from west coast to supply armed forces in Germany
I have the best souvenirs of my time passed in Murnau
I spend mutch time at Officers club where one jung girl named Elisabeth and sympatised

I was assigned to Kimbro from 68 to 70 where I taught engine and powertrain repair on track vehicles. Loved being there as it was so close to everything.
